Her Dead Boyfriend - Book Review

A page-turning thriller from an exciting debut author!

Long term besties Erin and Fiona are double-dating brothers Mark and Oliver, two very eligible bachelors. Mark and Oliver come from an old-money family and treat the girls to dinner at the best restaurants, nights at the theatre and weekends at the family beach house in Cape Cod.

Everyone tells aspiring author Erin that Oliver is the catch of the century, and she should grab him with both hands. However, Erin is still grieving the untimely death of her previous boyfriend, who bears an unsettling resemblance to Fiona’s beau, Mark. Erin becomes increasingly infatuated with Mark, knowing that her growing obsession can only lead to trouble. To sublimate her illicit feelings, Erin attends therapy and starts a novel where she can vent her darkest desires, but as Mark and Fiona’s relationship grows, Erin struggles to keep her true feelings on the page.

Her dead boyfriend is the debut novel by C. Fitton of Kingsley Publishers, and it is an absolute page-turner. Fitton is an avid thriller reader, and it shows, with whiplash twists and turns and revelations that will shock you to the core. Following unreliable narrator, Erin, is an absolute blast, as she fesses up to feelings and impulses deemed unacceptable by polite society. Fitton portrays how even the most cultured and civilised people can succumb to their baser instincts of jealousy, lust and even violence.

If you love fast-paced thrillers that see otherwise normal people pushed to their limits and beyond, you’re going to love Her Dead Boyfriend by C. Fitton.

Many thanks to Kingsley Publishers for and advance copy in exchange for an honest review.
